Stephen Curry credits team effort for Warriors’ Game 3 comeback victory

The Golden State Warriors found themselves in a must-win situation on Thursday night as they trailed the Memphis Grizzlies 2-0 in the first round of the NBA playoffs. Led by Stephen Curry, the Warriors rallied to defeat the Grizzlies 119-109 in Game 3 and keep their postseason hopes alive.

Curry was once again the catalyst for the Warriors’ success, scoring a game-high 40 points on 12-of-25 shooting. He also added five rebounds, six assists, and three steals in 37 minutes of action. However, after the game, Curry was quick to credit his teammates for the victory.

“It’s a team effort,” Curry said. “I know I have to do my part, but everybody else stepped up and made plays. That’s how we’re going to win games in this series.”

One of the players who stepped up for the Warriors was Draymond Green. The three-time All-Star recorded a triple-double, finishing with 12 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. He also played lockdown defense on Grizzlies star Ja Morant, holding him to just 12 points on 5-of-14 shooting.

“Draymond was amazing tonight,” Curry said. “He did everything for us. He was making plays, rebounding, and locking up defensively. We needed him to play like that, and he delivered.”

Another player who had a big game for the Warriors was Andrew Wiggins. The former No. 1 overall pick scored 21 points on 8-of-16 shooting, including 3-of-7 from beyond the arc. He also played solid defense and grabbed six rebounds.

“Andrew played great tonight,” Curry said. “He was aggressive and confident, and he knocked down some big shots for us. We need him to keep playing like that.”

The Warriors also got contributions from their bench, with Jordan Poole and Juan Toscano-Anderson combining for 25 points on 9-of-18 shooting. Poole, in particular, was a spark plug for the Warriors, scoring 11 points in just 12 minutes of action.

“Our bench was huge tonight,” Curry said. “Jordan came in and gave us a boost, and Juan did his usual thing of making plays and hustling. We need those guys to keep playing like that.”

With the win, the Warriors cut the Grizzlies’ series lead to 2-1. Game 4 is scheduled for Saturday in Memphis, and the Warriors know that another team effort will be required if they want to tie the series.

“We gave ourselves life,” Curry said. “But we know we still have a long way to go. We have to come out ready to play on Saturday and keep fighting.”
